I do not know anyone in this world that when he speaks of his land his eyes light up so much and spread his passion to others with such effectiveness.
This is Boris, Sicilian, good friend and former office partner. Recently he embarked on a tourism project that allows him to continue dreaming of his beloved Italian islands while still living in Barcelona.
His is a small Mediterranean travel agency with a special touch. Through his knowledge and love for the land, Boris has been making customized trips to Sicily for four years, respecting nature and choosing rural houses with more personality. Now he continues his conquest of the Mediterranean through his sister in Sardinia.
- What is your favorite Mediterranean place to lose yourself?
Apart from the jokes, I really like an island that is between Sicily and Tunisia: Pantellería (from the Arabic bentel riah - the daughter of the wind), it is a perfect island to rest and admire good views, it also eats very well and has saunas and natural hot tubs (it's an old volcano), it's a real past!
- What is the best time to travel to Sicily or Cedeña?
Sicily and Sardinia are two very different islands between them! Sicily is an island with a very large cultural and artistic heritage (the area of the world with the most UNESCO World Heritage Site per square km) which makes it perfect also for winter visits. At the same time going in spring or autumn is fantastic to appreciate its beaches and other natural resources (such as volcanoes!) - In summer it is good, the only thing is that in August it is quite full and this makes the visit a bit difficult.
Sardinia is an island of natural resources (it also has heritage and beautiful villages but I would stay with nature). Especially Sardinia is characterized by having the most beautiful beaches and coasts of the entire Mediterranean. Clearly it is not only sea, it also has beautiful mountains where it is worth doing a trekking getaway or simply to disconnect from modernity. The best seasons are spring and autumn. In summer you have to know where to go, there are areas and beaches that are also quite accessible in August and without many people. The common feature of the two islands is how well you eat ... mammma miaa! ;-)
- What do your customers repeat most times?
Hehe ... it is not a lack of humility but people really become delighted with our organization, and see that it is very simple. Simply choose places where the humanity factor is important or give advice on intelligent routes.
This is one of the phrases of a 2008 client who has made me particularly excited to receive:
The most incredible of all, is that when you talk with friends or acquaintances you see how many of them have tried to travel to Sicily but with the typical tour operator or on their own. I don't know if because of the prices or because the offer or itinerary they offer is very expensive or has not just convinced, but many of them have finally backed down and have not traveled to this island. Of course I am passing your website so they can discover that you have it very well mounted and that you really notice that this is your business. It is clear that not everything is business but a project so that people know your land and can give a return to the usual topics, there is an atmosphere among all of you of friendship and illusion in a common project and that is not seen every day, and less when we talk about tourism.
- Any tips for someone who wants to visit Sicily or Sardinia independently?
